Our kids classes have flexible starts times in case you have a difficult commute, prior activities or your child prefers to have shorter class due to fatigue or concentration etc.
Monday: 4:15pm or 4:30pm to 5:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am or 9:15am to 9:45pm

Try Kung Fu
Kung Fu Kids is the Wellington Wing Tsun Academy after school kung fu class for children.
The class is designed to introduce and foster the values and benefits of martial arts that can be applied to home, school life and other sports.
It promotes physical and social confidence, while supporting mental balance and physical fitness through focused aerobic activities.

The Children really enjoy the Kung Fu Class they talk about it all week. Its also really great to tire them out for the afternoon especially on rainy days.
The programme aims to support mental and physical development of girls and boys, including those who do less well in team sports.
The values and benefits of martial art based activities include:
- Mental development: attention, confidence, concentration, courtesy, focus, respect, self-discipline and self-esteem.
- Physical development: agility, co-ordination, flexibility, posture, strength, stamina.
The programme is physically and mentally safe for the children and combines the fun of the activities with a balanced mind though the martial art framework.
Through introducing the principles of Wing Chun, we promote and foster:
- confidence without bullying or anger
- non-aggressive ways of dealing with being bullied
- alertness and awareness
- dealing with physical confrontation
- dealing with verbal, gesture or other non-physical attacks.
A fringe benefit of the above values is the children’s increased safety from threats or undesirable behaviour of a malicious adult.
Miles and Jaxon have been doing Kung Fu for over a year. They enjoy the action and the games and like collecting the certificates at the end of each term. I like to encourage my children to stay active.

The class is taught by Duncan Zhou, the chief instructor of the Wing Tsun Association. He has over 20 years’ experience learning and practicing different martial arts.
Duncan has taught martial arts to a variety of age groups with diverse fitness and flexibility levels. He is also a certified personal trainer from the New Zealand Institute of sport and the instructor of the Wellington based TeamFit, small group and individual fitness training programme.
Duncan also has experience teaching second languages to children. He is a passionate instructor and dedicated to your child’s enjoyable development.
