Course Focus: The course focuses on using the Wooden Man form to supplement the existing training of martial artists who want to add Wing Tsun motions and principles to their skill-set.
Course Content: The course covers the 8 sections of the Ip Man Wooden Man Form, the principles that form their basis and examples of their application.
Approach: Motions will be shown on the Wooden Man with explanations of the principles and examples of their application. The student will have time to practice during the class. Additional self practice time on the Wooden Man can be arranged for students.
Benefits: Because Wing Tsun is a style based on applying the principles of anatomy and physics, rather than learning particular moves, Wing Tsun can be learned as its own complete style or the principles and motions can be learned and used to enhance the skill of a martial artist of a different style. The Wooden Man form can be an interesting and enjoyable way for the principles of Wing Tsun to be taught to a non Wing Tsun martial artist.
